Question

New Graphics card

Mar 3, 2016 1:44PM PST

Im looking for a new video/graphics card for my ASUS P5N E SLI 6501 S775 Motherboard. I believe I need a PCI Express (version 1). Any good suggestions under 100$ ?

Thank you.

Also is a PCI Express x16 the same as PCI express?

Answer
First PCI Express is not PCIe x16.

The board notes "PCI Express x16" so that's a bog standard connection for 99.99% of new cards you see for sale today.

There are 2 lists I check but first you only supplied the motherboard so what about power? Make and model of the PSU is needed to be sure we don't stress the PSU.

OK, I'd go no less than the 750 2GB model I see at http://www.amazon.com/gp/bestsellers/pc/284822/

The other list is called "Best video card for the money Tomshardware" but for this round the 750 2GB fits the part.

Thank you.
I bought the EVGA GeForce GTX 750Ti SC 2GB GDDR5 Graphics Card
As suggested. Will try it out in 7 days.

Next I am upgrading Ram. Preferably up to 4GB. I currently have 2GB (1gb x2) of DDR2 ram.
corsair 2x2? kingston 2x2?
I would upgrade to 8+ but this PC is older.

What you want is a 2x2GB @ 1333 kit of ddr2 ram.

Be sure to fit the ram in the proper slots to enable dual channel....read the manual.
