new gforce 6600 pci-e installing

Having trouble getting my new PCI-e card intalled. THeres a plastic piece connected to the slot that seems to bee keep me from pushing the card into the slot. very frustrating! what am i doing wrong!? Please someone help!

Just guessing, But I'm pretty sure

that's the lock for the slot. It should be DOWN before you start, then when you press(only as hard as necessary to seat card) the card in, it should pop up(lock) automatically. That's how my AGP slot works. Keeps the video card from becoming unseated(happened on my old MOBO). Good luck. chuck
