Not sure, but a DVD that is HD could be the cause, but where do you live? This might be caused by using a PAL DVD on an NTSC TV. How do you have the DVD player hooked to the TV? Try hooking your DVD player to the TV with the most basic connection (either by S-Video or RCA yellow video) so you can take a look at how the settings are on the DVD player. Is it set to Progressive Scan? Is there a setting for output resolutions that you TV won't recognize, like 480p, 720p or 1080i? Your TV should recognize 480i. Is the player set to a certain output format that your TV won't recognize, like component? Regardless of the DVD player, there should be no viewing issues if connected with either the single yellow RCA video cable or the S-Video cable.
trying to view a brand new DVD on a 10yr/old Phillips DVD player, I find that the image constantly flips. In the old days of VCRs, you'd just adjust the tracking. The helpline at Phillips tells me that the DVD must be in HD, but there's no indication on the disk that's it's in HD.
Any help? Thanks.
