from the CNET forums. Before viewing it could you all think back a few years ago and to think of how to upgrade this link to 2005. It came out of CNET Archives. 2001.
Have fun with it. I still have to know how to do this stuff today.

Here it is from 2001?

Transfer over all of our "favorites" from Internet Explorer to Firefox? When it comes to security, we are using the Spy Sweeper anti-spyware program, the Stopzilla pop-up ad blocker and the McAfee antivirus and firewall programs. Whew! Are we overprotected? Is there such a thing?

You don't have to do anything to Internet Explorer (IE). It will remain available in case you want to use it. No, I don't think you're overprotected. I use four similar programs on my computer; it's better to be cautious these days.

To import your IE bookmarks, open IE and click File at the top left, then click Import And Export. This starts a "software wizard" to help you. As you go through the wizard's instructions, click Export Favorites. Use the Browse command, then select the My Documents folder on the left. Click Save to store your IE bookmarks in My Documents. When you finish the wizard's instructions, a message should say you've successfully exported your Favorites. Click OK. Open Firefox, click on Bookmarks at the top, then click on Manage Bookmarks. Click File, then click Import. Choose My Documents on the left, then double click the file called Bookmark. Your IE bookmarks are now in Firefox bookmarks under the heading "Imported IE Favorites."
