New Creative Zen!

Sep 27, 2007 12:41PM PDT

This player looks AMAZING, I though the Vision:M blew away the competition as the best "really portable" media player, and now this. It even has more colors, 16.7 million colors, a really bright screen, a better battery life than any Zen currently out. It's credit card size too and pencil thick. Too bad it only comes in 16gb highest capacity, which doesn't even cover my videos. I'm getting the Zen vision W 30/60GB, but I wouldn't mind this for a present!
Any thoughts or critiques?

two cents

the battery life is averagish overall
and the 16.7 million color thing is nothing new. Archos and Cowon have been doing it for years.
Otherwise it's a nice little device to compete with the likes of the Clix Gen2, Archos 405, and upcoming Sansa View

Im not a creative fan... but being anti-iPod... I liked this player... I own an Archos AV500 which I think for even this days its awsome... great battery life (better than rated by archos).... and many features that make it survive among todays player... (standar conections, usb host (its like having external memory), replaceable battery, great interface, fast scrolling, bookmarking, file edition... etc...)

I just recommended the Zen to a friend after reading the specifics and knowing her needs... but i also recommended the archos 405, obviously buying an extra memory card...

The Zen looks great but I still think its screen is a bit small for me now that Im used to the AV500... anyways its a great alternative to a Nano, a 405, a Gigabeat T, and all those players in the range...

Since they dont say anything about it... I was curious...

1. Is the Zen drag and drop compatible (mass storage class device)?

2. How good is the integration between the SD slot and the player... (speed, position memory, editing files (erase, rename.. etc)) Also, can you copy the files to the internal memory of the player?

3. Scrolling (how fast since they are just directional buttoms) (archos made speed scrolling buttoms which works great, besides the single scrolling ones...)
