Question

New CPU+Motherboard or new GPU

Oct 3, 2013 2:28AM PDT

Hi there!

Im planning to upgrade my computer, but i need to know which upgrade solution will give the best fps boost in League of Legends (i'm not playing any other games atm)

My current setup is:

AMD Phenom ii x4 965 BE (Overclocked to 4 Ghz)
Asrock M3N78D Motherboard
GTX 570
750W Cooler master PSU (GX series)

So, my question is; what should I upgrade?

Upgrade to a MSI Z87-G45 Gaming motherboard and an Intel Core i5-4670K and keep my current GTX 570

or

Upgrade to a GTX 770 and keep my current motherboard and CPU?

Clarification Request
Is this going to help?

I'm asking if you found benchmarks for LoL for both cards. We already know the following.

""Our tests demonstrate fairly little difference between a $225 LGA 1155 Core i5-2500K and a $1000 LGA 2011 Core i7-3960X, even when three-way graphics card configurations are involved. It turns out that memory bandwidth and PCIe throughput don't hold back the performance of existing Sandy Bridge-based machines. ""

So keeping the same GPU I expect the same FPS.

New CPU+Motherboard or new GPU

Okay, but what about going from an AM3 socket, to a LGA 1150 with a better processor?
I have hard something about the CPU could bottleneck the GPU, and that's the only thing i'm worried about.

So, do you think that a GTX 770 could bottleneck an AMD Phenom ii x4 965 BE in LoL?

This is why I asked you a question.

And I supplied a link and quote about your CPU GPU bottleneck question.

Sorry if I was unclear but to me I read my reply and my answer is what I'm standing by.
