I can't tell if you are running it at the native resolution. Here's a link on why that matters.

If that's completed then you try ClearType.

I recently got a new machine and with it, a new video card. I'm using my existing monitor. Now that everything is up and running, I notice that the text isn't as sharp. In fact, all the lines and text seem a bit "soft" or "fuzzy." Also the image doesn't completely fill the screen. I've ran through all the settings on the OS, vid card, and even the monitor settings. I can't figure out why the image on this looks different (worse IMO) than it did before.
Computer:
Win 7 (64 bit)
8GB RAM
Intel Core i5-6500 3.2GHz
Vid card:
eVGA GeForce 8400 GS (PCI-e, 512MB)
Monitor: View Sonic VX2770 (flatscreen, 27")
Monitor connected through vid card via HDMI cable. VGA cable yielded the same results.
