New Computer and Win 7 Connection Problems

Jul 27, 2010 1:05PM PDT

When I go to set up internet connection in Control Panel, I get broarband ..... as only selection as that is all I have currently. After I click it asks for info to log on to ISP and password. My ISP doesn't require that. How do I get past this issue. System is 12 GB RAM, 1.5 TB HDD, 1 GB Radon Graphics.

Which ISP?

Your ISP does not require a username or password? I find that strange, especially for broadband.

When you signed up for this service did you have to create, or were you given, login details?

Could be true

My ISP does not require a user name or password either.

What I don't recall is how I got around that.

Perhaps I just hit enter when setting up the connection.

Try that.

I don't have to enter any login details to access my broadband connection.

However, to 'setup' a connection there has to be an initial login and password.
