i just put together a new computer, and it has a intel Core2 Duo Desktop Processor E6750 2.66ghz 4mb cache 1333fbs.i put in a freezer 7 pro heatsink and fan and i haven't installed windows yet. The cpu is running at around 50oC and the board is at 30oC, and the MCP is at 49oC is that about right for just being in BIOs? thanks

stock heatsink

i just switched the heatsink to the stock and its running at 47oC. i guess illl just use the stock fan

wasn't fully seated or the HS contact is not flat. Everything I read says your aftermarket HS should do materially better than the stock HS FAN.

My Q6600 on the bench with the same HS FAN fluctuates between 14-16C (BIOS reading) with ambient at 24C. Haven't tried any temp device to verify reading but maybe I will later this week.

Are you running the CPU on Smart Fan Control enabled or disabled ?
I've got mine disabled and the FAN runs full-speed. From my perspective the cooler the better.
