New CHM exploit in the wild

Feb 12, 2004 4:43AM PST

PivX Solutions is aware of a new CHM exploit that can be utilized through
Internet Explorer. This exploit is currently circulating in the wild on
compromised sites and allows delivery and execution of an EXE file. There is
no currently available patch.

We have already been working on mitigating this type of threat and the
currently available Qwik-Fix BETA already protects against this threat. We
will update our publicly available BETA version of Qwik-Fix in the days to
come to extend these mitigations even further.

To mitigate the impact immediately, we recommend that you install Qwik-Fix
from
