New Browser Window Won't Come Up

Aug 16, 2005 4:51PM PDT

I use Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox, but most of the time, I use the latter. I can't open up the window for downloading on www.fileplanet.com or the window to view clips on www.ifilms.com. For FilePlanet, I suspect there may be an error with Java, but I'm not sure. When I click on the link, it says done at the bottom.

Does this happen in IE, in Firefox or in both programs? You forgot to tell.

Check your pop-up blockers...

Chec your pop-up blockers, as they may be identifying the windows from these sites as unwanted pop-ups. In Firefox, go tools->options->web features and click "allowed sites" next to "Block Popup Windows." In Internet Explorer, go tools->internet options->privacy and click "settings" at the bottom. Just add the websites to those lists and you should be in business. Also, if you have a stand-alone popup blocker, or one built into your firewall, you'll want to chack those settings as well.

While it doesn't sound like a Java issue to me, you can download the latest version (replacing your current installation) by clicking here in Internet Explorer. (The site requires ActiveX, which is not available in Firefox.)

Hope this helps,
John
