Resolved Question

New ASUS X205 WIN 8.1 Wants me to use their cloud.

Apr 18, 2015 4:03AM PDT

I have what I hope is a simple question,I just received a X205 ASUS NOTEBOOK that runs win8.1 like my HP ALL-IN-ONE, I use a external hard drive to go along with file history.I also have OneDrive on both devices. My question is ASUS wants me to use their cloud storage to back up and sync my files. How will this affect OneDrive, also it wants me to use my external hard drive to back up it's file history.I am not sure what to do since the PC and notebook sync nicely , music , photos ,etc. What should I do with the file history relating to the notebook, buy a separate external backup, or plug in the PC external drive occasionally? Whatever shall I do,any help will be greatly appreciated,Thanks , MITCH K

there's no such thing as too many backups.
You should be able to choose what you back up on the cloud so why not set up both , you may have too many files on one cloud so send them over to the other to clear up space.
I also have an external HDD for important things and things I don't want floating around in the etherworld .

Why not?

If all is fine for you without using the Asus cloud: don't.
About the file history: do what suits you best.
