Some are upset over 300 cycle batteries, 1 to 2 year DVDRW drives but almost all entry level, value machines have such parts to keep the price low.
Also these run Windows and since cruising the wrong web site or installing just one bad software takes the machine down you could never call a PC reliable.

I can say that today's laptops are, on the whole far better than what I saw in 2000.

Aspire 8935G to be released. It was annnounced to be released in June and we are fast approaching July. Although it's out in Canada and England.
