Type the following at the command prompt (Start> Run>cmd):
"convert c: /fs:ntfs"
(w/o quotes)
where c: is drive you want to convert. It'll run when you next restart.
To repartition you can use fdisk, which erases all data on your hd in the process or PartitionMagic which erases about $80 from your bank account (: There are some cheaper (free?) partitioning utilties out there, I think, but I haven't used them so couldn't recommend. Good luck.
Greetings Everyone,
I am the proud owner of a new Acer Travelmate 8104 WLMI notebook! I researched and reviewed numerous notebooks, and finally found the one for me. I am very satisfied, thus far, with the notebook.
Unfortunately I noticed the hard drive is a partitioned Fat32 drive. How do you unpartition this drive, reformatting it into an NTFS format? I tried reloading the software, simulating a hard drive recovery, but it loaded the same way. Hhhhmmmmm. Any answers? Thank you in advance.
If anyone is interested in more information on my laptop fill free to drop me a line.
