General discussion

new account at godaddy.com

Dec 12, 2010 1:45AM PST

Hello all.

I have just set up a new hosting account at godaddy.com .
I could not find the info I need in order to log in with an FTP software.
Also, I could not find the data I need to write at my DNS server.

Do you know how I can find what I need ?

Thanks
Ofek

While I could say you should ask them.

The IP of your web site might change over time so why not let godaddy maintain the DNS's of the world?

Also, you could always use NSLOOKUP on a machine that uses the ISP's DNS to find the IP information for today and hope it doesn't change.

Call Godaddy.com at 480 505 8877 and choose technical support. They will help you. If you get a jerk, just hang up and call back and you'll get someone else. Be aware that they will try to sell you something while they have you on the phone. I've found them to be helpful 80% of the time. (Sometimes, you will get a real a--hole, but usually not)
