Question

New 5.1 stereo system, trying to connect to MP3 jack

Hi,

Just got a new 5.1 sound system, and trying to connect it to my laptop/iPhone etc.. Now it has 6 RCA ports (3 red, 3 white) and the standard cables only have 1 red and 1 white cable. Does anyone know what adapter or cable i will need to buy? I can post a picture to explain what I mean if i can find out how to! Im trying to connect it an MP3 jack..
I think i almost have the 4 speakers wired in paraell version but NOT the 'daisy chain' one.

Any ideas/help would be appreciated Happy<div>

What 5.1 system?

The speaker wiring link does not seem to apply here as I see no MP3 jack.

Sound system

Its a 5.1 sound system, has a subwoofer and 5 subspeakers.
Also the link is more the setup to which i think the sound system is, not the actual MP3 jack, that is what im trying to get done.
If i can find out how to upload a picture then i will

You could share the make/model of the receiver.

And same for the MP3 source. Since most MP3 players are stereo, some folk get uppity about that. Some receivers have a way to play on more speakers by a matrix process in an A/V receiver.

I don't see enough detail to dive into this. Sorry about that but I'm sure it's like trying to work on something with blindfold, earmuffs and in chains.
