never upgraded

I've had a computer for ten years and the only upgrade made was buying a new computer. The only thing I know about the inside of my computer is where the sound card is located and the only reason I know that is because I was forced to make an adjustment due to our friends at Dell sending me a computer in less than perfect condition. It was a huge shock when I called them and found out I had to make the repair myself when I was under the misconception that in home repair meant they send someone to do it.Sorry Charlie! Also I've noticed that the hardware upgrades are almost as expensive as buying a new computer. Can someone tell me where the memory modules are located in case I decide to bump it up to 512 instead of buying another computer.Just in case anyone takes this seriously I've got a Dimension 8200 1.7 256

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
