If for some reason it's taking a long time to establish a connection to the network, this very well could happen.
On Unix and Linux you can just set things to try and establish the connection in the background. With Windows, you get to play with settings on the router and wifi card to see if you can figure out what's taking so long.
For me at least - Running a wireless network from my pc to another one a room away. Whenever my PC boots up without being connected to the router it boots up like it used to - nice, fast and smoothly. When connected to the router it takes a year and a half to load in.
Curious if this happens with anyone else
