Was to keep in the same make product lines. While there are supposed to be standards, once in a while you find this won't connect to that so you're pulling out cards to pop in the card from the same maker. Not much new going on here.
As to any possibility of configuration, I'm sure your IT staffer has called Brocade and Arista so it's time to pull plugs and cards and get it working.
I've been having issues with getting a new server, Dell PowerEdge R420 with a Brocade 1020 card to connected to an Arista DCS-7124s 10gigE switch. FYI my back ground is in server support not networking so I really don't know much about switch configurations or 10GigE networking. I have in the past without any problems been able to get are standard myricom 10G-PCIE-8bl-s cards to connect without fail. Is their a switch configuration I need to change in order to get the Brocade cards to talk to the Arista switch?
thx for any help.
