Question

Networking 2 wireless Mac routers with switch

Apr 10, 2018 6:09AM PDT

Greetings,

I have a Zoom cable modem and then a Netgear 5 port switch. Then 5e cable from the switch to a rj45 wall jack and into an Apple AirPort Extreme Time Machine.

All works fine. Now I want to add an Airport Express in the bedroom across the condo to extend the network. There is an active rj45 jack in the bedroom coming from the switch. Can I run the Airport Express through this from the switch to extend the network?

I have seen descriptions of ways to use both routers with the second one in bridge mode but all the examples show it directly connected to the first router with ethernet cable. I can find no example of using a switch.

Many thanks,
Scott
