Question

Network speed test for a job

Apr 21, 2017 2:14PM PDT

They require a 64 bit PC and 10mb down and 5 up. My ISP can provide 10 down but not 5 up. Jobs gonna send me a link to validate my system capabilities. If I can't get the 5 up I know a guy 15 min away that gets 100mb up. Theirs no way to trace a speed test is their? They can't see the IP or anything when running one? My system will be well capable of doing the job but I don't want to not get it because I don't get 5mb down speed.

..which is basically what you're asking here. Eventually, it will catch up to you. My suggestion, just get a faster internet connection.. Yep, it's going to cost a little more money but it will allow you to perform your job better in the long run.

That said, depending on the app associated with the validation link, it may indeed be able to identify the IP address. When I do bandwidth speed tests here, it identifies the "to and from" IP addresses.

Hope this helps.

What speed is the internet package your paying for?

Run your own speed test.
http://beta.speedtest.net/

If your close to the reqs the company requires they may be flexible.

Don't fib on the entry exam.
If you get caught later you'll be in big trouble.

Run the companies link early in the morning.

Do not run it from 8pm>midnight.
All the netflix types have the internet bogged down.
