Not to duplicate chapters about IP addressing but with the usual NETMASK of 255.255.255.0 this IP address is not on your LAN.
I'd look in your product manual to see where to set it's IP to something on your LAN.

Hello,
I connected the network printer to a UTP cable. It gets an IP adres. 192.168.18.246. It is recognized by universal printer driver as HP laserjer 5200tn with IP 192.168.18.246. But at the end of the configuration it says it can't communicate with the printer.
All our IP's are like 192.168.249.xx and the printer appears to be 192.168.16.246 ??
Anyone an idea whats going wrong?
In this screen: http://www.dannykater.nl/afbeeldingen/HP-printer-probleem.JPG it says Status Check. Where the error comes: Communication with printer not possible.
