Dear,,
I am using windows 2000 prof.

I am in great proble i dont know what it is ???
Some days earlier our office got affected with trojan_horse and i used mcafee for it. This trojan was dirctly attacking the driver/etc folder of all the system. I cleaned it up but now some of our systems are coming in workgroup means ther are in view but when i try to access it it shows the message " network path not found or some server error even such computer is not there.

I tried various things on it but havent got the solution.

Repair is not always possible.

Here's why. With trojans, some give remote control to the bad person and the damage is untold.

What happens is we do the best we can with the Windows 2000 SFC repair tool (I suggest you run IEFIX found with google.com) and if that or a REPAIR INSTALL doesn't clean it up then you back up and start over.

-> Its all part of the lesson about operating a computer safely, with full antivirus and firewall protection and staying away from illicit activities.

Add all of your machines to a dummy workgroup. Then re-add them to your domain.

A trojan has free reign over the system.

As the trojan and the person who remotely damaged the OS doesn't have to damage it in any specific way, there is no specific cure. If the repair install or WINSOCKFIX doesn't cure it, you reload the OS.

It's also a lesson about current antivirus and safe computing practices.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
