Network Neighbourhood extra screen. I FIXED IT!

by Patricia / March 5, 2004 1:41 AM PST

Sympatico was no help. They said it was not a Netscape or a Sympatico problem, but a Windows problem. They gave me the support number to call Microsoft, but there would be a fee. I tried searching the knowledge base, but got nowhere.

Today, I tried again to play with it. I moved the wallpaper to one side (which you're not supposed to do if things are right) and instead of clicking on the globe, I clicked on the blank screen. A different menu came up, and on it Network Neighbourhood was ticked. I clicked on that and the tick went away, and so did the extra window under the desktop.

Such a little thing and no one could figure it out, including a chap in New Zealand who is a whiz with things.

I'm so darn pleased. Happy

I wanted to let you know incase you ever come across this weird little problem.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
