Let's hear where they got this canon support number from. There are many fake canon support sites and they will "help". But often ask for the unsuspecting user to install remote support and let them take control.
So a little more detail please.
And for scanning I use Grif's advise from http://www.cnet.com/forums/discussions/how-to-remove-pup-option-603542/#post-f742c795-5881-433b-a29b-6d758efe5cd3
Installing a driver for a wifi printer.
cannon mb5420 (maxify)
The driver was from the Canon's site per using a Canon support person from the start to help get connected.
Questions:
How to troubleshoot?
Is it a network issue?
Or do I need to troubleshoot the computer?
More detail:
cannon mb5420 (maxify) and the driver that they were trying to install was from Canon's site. The person who was installing it called support to guide her. So it was there recommended site. The support person after trying to install the driver. Told her that it could not be installed after they checked the admin events file and it said that the network was hacked. (1st image link admin events) and the console image with the message(2nd pic) came up. The printer is set up on a wifi network.
