Question

Network Drive on Panasonic BDT460

I am able to access a shared drive that is connected to my router via the blu ray player. Yesterday, I was also able to access shared folders on my windows 7 pc from the blu ray player, but today it says "cannot connect". I have checked all ip, firewall and sharing settings, and am at a complete loss.

Router: IP address: "192.168.0.1"
Shared folder name: "Share"
...this works:)

Windows 7 pc: IP address: "192.168.0.11"
Shared folder name: "Movies"
... this doesn't work:(

I even tried unistalling Norton 360 to see if it was some firewall issue ...
My networked media player (UEBO) can access shared folders on the windows pc but my new BDT460 blu ray player cannot.

Please help ... thanks

Is there any ISP supplied router?

In reply to: Network Drive on Panasonic BDT460

ISPs can reconfigure routers so you have to dive in and be sure they didn't change a thing. If that's not it, make the call to Panasonic and make it a warranty issue. That is, they fix or you return it.

Need help networking Blu-ray player

In reply to: Network Drive on Panasonic BDT460

Were you ever able to solve this? I ask because I am failing on what I think is a similar problem: getting my DMP-BD89 Blu-ray player to be able to access video files in the default download folder of my Windows 7, 64-bit PC. The player is connected to the router by wire and the computer by wifi.

I don't know whether the problem is in my computer's settings or player's settings. For the player:

Network Drive Connection: On

IP Address 192.168.0.2
User ID: Allen
Shared Folder Name: C:\Users\Allen|Download
Password:

What settings do you use?

I've tried many different entries for "Shared Folder Name," some including the computer's "name" (which is Roy-835). But nothing worked.

I'm not sure what settings I should use on my computer, but I *think* I've set it up to share...

Thanks,
Allen
