Network Disk

Apr 19, 2005 8:01AM PDT

Hey everyone,
I am trying to create my home wireless network, after years of having my three home computers connect directly to the internet through a wireless router. I use my laptop for almost everything, and it is on XP. I went through the home network wizard to set it up, and everything went fine untill the end, when I tried to create a network disk to use on my other two computers (on Win.9Cool. The problem is on my laptop I don't have a floppy drive, although I do have a cd burner. I put a blank CD in, but the message came up I didn't have any detected floppy disk or other media, when I tried to finish the wizard. Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks alot in advance.

use a USB drive

If you do need to make the disk, try using a usb drive to create the file. I had the same problem with my laptop. The USB drive worked a treat, then I had problems with the "security" of my win 2k system. Apparently, I just need to set up a password for the user instead of leaving it blank. Once I get my machine back from the shop Ill be able to verify that.

Good luck,
Lucy
