Network connections icons? win2k server

Feb 19, 2004 1:39AM PST

Windows 2000 Small business server!

Network connections icons have disappeared from the network and dial up conencitons conenctions box?

I did a reboot of the server and it will bring them back temporarily but they then disappear again after a period of time.

Any ideas?

Is this the Network Neighborhood?

If so, that's been broken since the beginning. I can supply reading material, but no fix.

Tell more as to exactly what WINDOW you are looking at.

Hi,

Its the 'Network and Dialup Connections' window, there should be two connections present in that window, but they keep dissapearing! When I run ipconfig the connections are present but they just don't appear in that window (if that makes sense!)

Cheers, any help is appreciated!

1. 'Network and Dialup Connections' window, there should be two connections present in that window, but they keep dissapearing!"

Try the usual. Tap F5 to refressh it.

2. "When I run ipconfig the connections are present but they just don't appear in that window (if that makes sense!)"

This is starting to read like the Network Neighborhood (NN) issues. The end story of NN is that its not reliable and if you want something better, you use the NET VIEW and other commands.

You can see that the IPCONFIG is working, so this is likely to be just like the issues of NN.

Certain registry cleaners have been known to corrupt/remove that key.
