On one of my wireless computers has internet gateway and the other wireless does not have internet gateway. Does this make a difference in the internet connection? The one with the internet gateway has slow doadload speed.

"On one of my wireless computers has internet gateway and the other wireless does not have internet gateway."

Please expand a bit on the statement, it makes little or no sense. An internet gateway in common usage is some form of hardware router or software proxy server.

I am trying to track down a reason or cause for my new laptop's download speed to be slow - when running a speed test the download speed is 741 kbps. The download speed on my other laptop was approximately 1500 kbps. On the laptop with the slower speed, when I check my Network Connections, it shows as Internet Gateway. On my faster laptop it shows as LAN or High Speed Internet. I am running Windows XP Professional and Comcast High Speed Internet Service on both computers. Both are connected to the same home network.
