Many routers do offer such a system.
As to your nighthawk, be sure to assign the IP to that MAC address and that is how you get that MAC address to be blocked on schedule.
I can't give direct support but I thought this router did allow blocking specific ports and services. Maybe it's just hard to setup?
Hello,
I'm looking for either a firewall or switch (or some appliance) that would disable internet access to specific mac addresses on my wired / wireless network on a schedule. I have a Netgear Nighthawk router, and I can do that kind of a setup if I dedicate specific IP addresses to all of my machines, but I'd like to be able to handle via mac addresses, and I'd also like more control over blocking services (such as bitTorrent) or specific sites on my network. I don't mind if it's a "Pro" device - but not sure what to even look for at this point!
Thank you,
Alex
