Netscape and Firefox browsers have stopped working

Mar 20, 2005 8:24AM PST

I have Netscape and Mozilla browsers installed on my computer along with Internet Explorer, MSN Explorer and Opera. They all used to work fine until two days ago, now only I.E., MSN and Opera work. Every time I start Netscape and Firefox, I get the same message " the connection was refused when attempting to contact the proxy server you have configured . Please check your settings and try again ". I haven't changed anything. I am using Win XP Pro with service pack 2, can anyone tell me how to make those browsers work again . Thanks, Lino

Netscape and Firefox browsers have stopped working

Thanks for answering. I have gone into Fire fox and have set set a direct connection to the internet and it is working now, but I can't find a way to do that in Netscape. I have never had proxies that I know of, I downloaded these browsers and they started working fine the way they came , but a couple of days ago I started seeing the proxy messages. Can you give me instructions on how to make netscape 7.2 work ? I have gone to their help pages and set it the way I was told, but it still does not work. thanks
