netgear wireless ma111 not in harmony with windows xp..

system:Dell Dimension c521, windows xp

When tryng to connect with a MA111 wireless netgear adaptor, i received a lovely blue screen sayng bad_pool_header

found out i needed a driver to counteract said problem, which i have downloaded and used. However, although it connects to the netgear hub, it says i have little or no connectivity because "network did not sign a network address to the computer" when i pressed repair connection, it stated it could not renew the ip address.

can't use the windows wireless network connection wizard, because the driver i downloaded requires that to be disabled, so i have run out of computers.

my Dell is brand new!

Another recurring issue with this limited connectivity is that not all cards seem to connect to routers with disabled SSID broadcasts or with some encryptions. What I do is start with no wifi security and see which items work or not.
