Question

Netflix on LN55C650 HDTV problems

by dbinder101 / January 23, 2012 2:02 AM PST

I just started using Netflix on this TV and have 2 issues:

1) The streaming is choppy, every 15-20 seconds is a juttering motion. I already have Auto Motion set to off. I also did a Network test and the speed is more than adaquate (18MB)

2) The picture looks like a video cam style rather than a movie style. I already set the picture type to Movie in the TV setting. Any help would be appreciated.

Wifi is subject to interference so let's hear what the setup is.

My ISP is Cablevision, 15 MB down 2MB up. I already told you about my network test. What else do you need to know?

Any idea of how to get rid of the "video cam" effect?

So make, model, wifi settings (I turn that off during my tests) and more. This is person to person so no tech support. I count on you to participate.

Internet@TV apps in general

I'm not sure why you're having connectivity issues, but I can perhaps elaborate on the "video cam" effect because I have it too.

The problem is that when the TV launches certain apps, i.e. Netflix, it automatically reverts to a hideous, high contrast 120hz picture mode. This makes whites bloom like crazy and causes whatever you are watching to look like it was shot on a $200 camcorder. Has anyone come across a way to fix this so you can use any other picture mode? Ideally I'd like to be able to switch between modes like you can any other time you're using the TV. Why use Netflix if I can't access my custom, calibrated movie mode?

The Samsung RF23M8090SG

One of the best French door fridges we've tested

A good-looking fridge with useful features like an auto-filling water pitcher and a temperature-adjustable "FlexZone" drawer. It was a near-flawless performer in our cooling tests.
