Question

Netflix not working

Nov 24, 2017 5:10AM PST

I can no longer watch Netflix on my Samsung tv. It worked fine up until about a week ago. Now the error screen comes up and that's as far as it will go. I've tried unplugging the tv for 3 minutes, resetting my router, you name it I've probably tried it. Nothing works!

Any error message on the error screen? If so, what does it say?

Now that's annoying!

I assume you tried both wired and wireless connections, that other apps on the TV that need Internet work, that Internet via that router works on your phone, tablet and PC (that is, all normal Internet and the Netflix app and site).

Then it's time to contact Netflix customer service, I think, because it can only be their app that has issues.
After all, you're a paying customer who needs support.

Yep tried it all. Everything else works. Netflix works on our other tv and on my tablet and phone. Oh well. I guess I'll have to contact them. Boo! Well thanks for your effort.

Samsung has other resets.

I can't tell you much more than the short version but when you call in Samsung usually walks you through the following. I never write how to do some steps since a wrong move and you have a bricked TV. Firmware updates for example are done PER SAMSUNG. Never by anyone else's instruction.

1. Check if the firmware is current. If not, update.
2. Reset the TV. Varies with model, generically called "Factory reset."
3. Reload the Netflix app. How? Samsung's method is to change the country to a non-netflix country and then change it back.

Remember these are the short versions. If you want the long versions, call Samsung at 800SAMSUNG, use their web page for your model.

Tried un-reinstalling the Netflix app?

Is the problem with the Netflix app itself? Tried reinstalling that?
