Question

Netflix menu on BD C5500

Mar 6, 2015 9:05AM PST

since I took a update on my DVD player a couple months ago, my Netflix menu is messed up. it is a endless loop

say I want to got to genre thriller and I press menu, a new menu pops up but instead of listing the thriller sub categories it re-lists the same top level menu, then if a scroll down again to thriller press menu again it will not display the sub categories it only display the main menu again

it kind of useless to use this way because the only thing that works is recent added and new releases none of genres section works . i have tried reset the the DVD play via setting and even holding stop button for 10 seconds-- it reloads the software but out of the 10 listed none of them are the Netflix software so I guess I can not seam to get rid of the little bug that way by forcing Netflix software to reload ..

any help or other suggestions ???

yes but it is samsung that autorized the app, and does not allow me to uninstall the app to reinstall the app, so yes it is samsung issue-- as chances are it is a currupt XML in the app.. if I could uninstall the app then reinstall stuff would work fine afterwards one would possibly think

samsung created the app

after talking to Netflix -- they say Samsung created the app they are responsible for it .. so yes then this belongs in the samsung forum

they also told me to contact them
Samsung 1-800-726-7864, its hours of operation 5:30 AM - 9:00 PM, 7 days a week. And even their official website! (samsung.com/ca/support)

but they ( netflix) have submitted a a form to Samsung app division so hopefully they will correct the issue at some point in the near future "possibly ?"

thanks tried that tired a reset within the soft reset in the software itself and a hard reset by holding the "stop" button for 10 seconds, which forced it to reload software, it reloaded default 10 apps - but still a an issue.. I will look for konami code as see what's what

thanks

If not and if you claim Sam wrote the Netflix app, that would be a first. Sam provides a platform but so far, Netflix ports their app with some VERY UPSET about how features come and go from one platform to the next.

Frankly I find the Roku, Amazon Fire TV to be a better choice for this area as Samsung has some very strange ideas about access, updates and more.

Netflix Josh
Got it! Alright here is what happening man. First of all I do not want you to think that I'm trying to make the run around thing here, because I'm truly not, I'm really really interested on helping you out with this. Therefore I need to tell you that everything regarding the features on your Bluray's app, Samsung are the ones in charge of them, since they are the manufacturer of your device and they are the ones who develop the apps for their devices. I hope this makes sense to you. "

this is not my claim this is netflix claim, which if you think about would seam reasonable , samsung uses netflix as a selling point, so they are probaly the one contracted to maintain the app for it own devices.

so yes I do hope it works out for me and probably whole lot of other people ...

That's a new one.

While I found that features may be set by or limited by Samsung, Netflix has firmly put the ball in Samsung's court.

Make the call to Sam next and ask for fix, exchange or refund depending on how it goes.

This is news to me, that is, what I know could be outdated.
