Is the new Apple TV the cheapest, and smallest, device that can stream Netflix to your TV?

No that would be the Roku box.

They just lowered the prices. 60 dollars for an SD box. 70 dollars for an HD. They do Netlifx, Amazon video on demand and several other streaming services.

Whether you get the AppleIt really depends on how much you want Apple's selection of movies and TV show and the ability to connect an iPod, iPhone or iPad wirelessly to your TV. The rest of the features are quite similar between the two boxes.

I guess...

It's worth the extra if you already extensively use iTunes.
Problem here though is netflix doesn't operate in Australia. And iTunes is ridiculously overpriced for TV and movies.

wow -- you left out iTunes integration

I don't know why you would leave out iTunes integration. That's huge!

For instance, let's say you have lots of movies on your computer. All you have to do is point iTunes to it (it doesn't have to move the movies to the iTunes library.. they can stay wherever they are). And now, you can stream those movies to Apple TV
