Blockbuster was such a corporate nazi for so long with their return policy that I won't give them any of my business for finally being BEATEN to the point of turning it around to be more like Netflix.

I have NetFlix, and we supposedly live close enough so that it takes mail 1 day to get there from here. Yet, I mailed out last DVD out last Thursday, and I'm finally getting a replacement tomorrow (if it gets here, if not then Thursday). This means that, though I have supposedly unlimited DVDs, 1 out at a time, I can only get 4 a month, or 1 a week, because the turnaround time is so long.
I had a long talk with my local postmaster and he said there's no reason they should have gotten the DVD that I mailed last Thursday morning, yesterday. They should have gotten it on Friday.
So, though I think Mr. 20 DVDs a month has a good point, I think they're dinking all of their customers. They have plans that will allow you to get 4 out at a time, 5 out a ta time, etc. all the way up to a membership that costs almost $50 a month. They are trying to force members to upgrade to a more expensive level.
During the Superbowl, we saw an ad for Blockbuster, where they have similar pricing strategy, but along with that, you also get 1 electronic coupon each week that you print out and take to your local Blockbuster for a free movie. So, if the mail is so slow it takes 1 week to get each new DVD, you can also get 4 from the store per month, so that equals 8, not the 4 per month I'm getting now with NetFlix.
I'm going to sign up for both, and then drop one after a month. It will be interesting to see what happens.
