Answer
Time to ask the author/company what .NET to install.

There are now some 5 versions of .NET so it's not a good idea to install more than the one you need. Back to the author or company to ask them which to install.

In the future go ahead and reveal name of the app just in case folk know which .NET goes with this app.

Its a program that has had no problem before, Family Tree Maker. Was thinking should I just uninstall then install again ? Or will that cause even more problems ?

So close.

I was hoping for the software title to include a version. Without it I can't see what version is needed.

As to uninstall, reinstall, worth a try.
