You refer to a serial number on a box but state you downloaded Nero from the internet. Did you buy a previous version of Nero from a store and then download the latest version from the company's website? Remember, the serial number is only good for the designated version...you must purchase an upgrade and receive a new serial number if you want to use a newer version beyond the free trial period.
If you can't or don't want to go the Nero route you can click here for a list of DVD tools, many of which offer free trials in which you can rip a DVD to your hard drive in one of the iPod's supported formats...m4v, mp4, and mov.
Hope this helps,
John
P.S. It's not wise to include your e-mail address in the open, as spammers will 'harvest' it and fill your inbox. It's better to write name[at)domain(dot]com, or better yet use the E-mail Member function available in your Cnet profile, which is completely anonymous. I have requested the admins to remove your e-mail address for this reason.
Hi - I just downloaded Nero 7 ... I can't install it because it is asking for a newer serial number (there was one already there in the box ... when I click "next" I get a message stating the serial number has expired and I need to enter a new one). I'm running Win XP;
I have a DVD my mother made just before she died, and I want to convert this to Quicktime so I can load it on my iPOD ... a friend suggested Nero as the application to do this.
Any help would be deeply appreciated.
Thank you!
