"Nero" deleted LaCie hard drive

Nov 12, 2010 11:22PM PST

Hi Guys - I have recently bought a Toshiba Satellite which included a demo version of Nero - the first time I connected my LaCie external hard drive, Nero automatically backed up the laptop, deleting the contents of my hard drive in the process. I had loads of family photographs on the LaCie and am absolutely gutted. Is this recoverable - I have tried a using a recovery software to no avail - is it possible to recover these files and if so - what is the best way to sort?

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Thanks

Walt

I'd head straight to
http://www.drivesavers.com since any recovery software may only make it worse.

--> Your story begs the question and it must be asked.

Where was the backup copy of these items you didn't want to lose?
Bob

Thanks for the reply and advice Bob - The original files were until recently on a lap top my son has taken to University (which was pinched following a burglary!) - Hence the new laptop - had not got around to transferring the pics over!!! - My fault completely

Will see what drive savers can do

Cheers
