at the top of the main window,

click on "recorder"

click on "choose recorder"

click on the name of your CD burner

that should do it -- fj

I don't know if this was fixed since I bought my liteon burner last year, but nero has a silly convention, when you want to copy a cd, when you put the source CD in the drive, you have to click on "BURN"-- but this does not burn the cd in the drive, it copies it. the burn happens when you insert blank media when prompted. dumb way of doing things. -- fj

I find this only happens when I forget to select the target drive. Of course you need at least 2 optical drives for this to work, which I have- a burner/DVD drive, and a DVD burner. If I select the source drive only, and forget to pick a target drive, the image is written to my HD, the source drives pops open, and I'm prompted to insert a bland cd. I think that oem versions of Nero are a little bit stripped down from retail versions. My 'bro in law has an oem copy, and tells me he can't do alot of the stuff I can with my retail copy. Could be that also (?).

What type of CD burnner(CD writer) do you have? Do you install the burning software that goes with CD writer when you purchased it?
If you already have a full version of burning software(Like Nero Full version), you can use any CD burnner to do the job.
If you have LiteOn CD burnner, you have to use bundled software come with it.
