Nero BackItUp Drive Restore

Feb 1, 2005 9:45AM PST

I've backed up my music drive using Nero BackItUp (1.2.0.1Cool. Since I backed up the whole partition, Nero created an EXE file in the first backup CD. However, now that I want to restore my files, I get an error message. After running the EXE file I get a DOS-like window asking me to choose a language. After choosing the language I get this error message:
"NRESTORE.EXE
An application has attempted to directly access the harddisk, which cannot be supported. This may cause the application to function incorrectly. Choose 'close' to terminate the application."
I would truly appreciate it if someone could help me out.
Thank you.

"Very easy to restore. Just make sure that your BIOS will boot from floppy first - have a start disc that lets you access your CD - enter E: or whatever your cd drive is & type "nrestore.exe."

It appears you tried to run it from Windows?

Good idea but....

I made a DOS floppy disc using the Format feature in Windows but it can't access my CD-ROM or any other partition except C drive.
Do you know any other source that has a start disc and allows me to access my CD-ROM.
I appreciate your help.

http://www.bootdisk.com Fetch the win98se.exe, run it and give it a disk to make a generic boot disk.

Best of luck,
