nero and external cdwriter

by No_Rectangulars / June 22, 2005 2:13 PM PDT

I'm running XP on a laptop, I have an HP8200E cd writer. The computer can see but Nero can't. I've already replaced wnaspi.dll with various versions but to no avail. Any suggestions. From what I can tell this seems to be a not uncommon problem.
Yes, I am aware the HP sucks in all possible ways, but I'm not buying another one.

Nero bundled version
by AussiePete / June 22, 2005 2:43 PM PDT

If your copy of Nero came "bundled" with another CDROM then that is your problem. If not why dont you email Nero - they are pretty good - answered a question of mine - have a look at the web page for details

bundled?

It was an OEM version that came with my XP, it works fine with an internal writer. What do you mean 'bundled'? and if so, how do I solve it?

Bundled

What Aussie means is that the NERO that you received is meant to work only with your specific writer. All the CD/DVD writer manufacturers gift you a writer software as part of their sale; the software comes along or "bundled" with the writer.

The solution will be to buy a Retail pack of a writer program or try a lot of free ones available on the net that will recognise your external writer.

ok, so how do I get around it? Or failing that, can I get a good free version of Nero that WILL work?

HP8200E and Nero
by Papa Echo / June 22, 2005 6:20 PM PDT

What do you mean Nero can't see the HP8200E ? Do you mean you cannot choose the HP8200E for a recorder, and that Nero only give you an ''Image recorder'' as the only choice ? I am refering to Nero Burning ROM, he main Nero burning program. BTW, which version of Nero do you have ?

The Samsung RF23M8090SG

One of the best French door fridges we've tested

A good-looking fridge with useful features like an auto-filling water pitcher and a temperature-adjustable "FlexZone" drawer. It was a near-flawless performer in our cooling tests.
