downloaded a file and tryed to burn it to disc with nero home essentials but i get a message saying cd-r inserted but a cd-r/rw is required just woundering what the difference or might i be doing something wrong using windows vista

I'd try using Ashampoo Burning Studio Free. It's available at CNET Download. That's the program I use.

put in cd-rw disc instead of cd-r disc and it worked ok in ashampoo
