Needing advice on upgrade please

I am new here and seeking advice for an upgrade. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
My PC is mainly used to check email, watch netflix, and store some personal pictures. Over the next few months I will need to be able to use my PC for video editing and storing large amounts of data. My budget is $1000. These are my current components
MSI motherboard with PCI, socket 939 and DDR2 RAM slots
AGP video card
Dual core, 4300 MHZ CPU
150 GB IDE hard drive
Unknown power suppy
24 inch CRT VGA monitor
Thanks in advance for any input!

Storing large amounts of data needs attention.

When you store data or rather files, you must maintain 2 backup copies and rotate the backups or you run the risk of loss. Be sure to budget for backups.

Your machine is too old to make it practical to swap parts for an upgrade.

If your into building look at the link that was provided.

Otherwise shop around at your local merchants and see what's available.
