Question

Need video camera for High School Football

Aug 11, 2011 12:27PM PDT

Hello all.. I'm looking for a new video camera to record the high school football games. From what I've been able to gather, they want HD and they want to keep that HD quality when it zooms in. Most games are at night so we want to make sure it records well in low light. They are use to getting the film right after game, the camera they use currently writes to a mini dvd and we just copy that to regular one via tower. However that isn't a requirement but would be nice. The editing will be done using Cyberlinks PowerDirector, with does support AVCHD. I believe they perfer a procomsumer type model, no DSLR models please, however the price range isn't that great so I'll understand if its not probable for a prosumer model. Finally the price range will top out around $1500.

Any suggestion or thoughts would very helpful.

Thanks
