Question

Need Upgrade Advice Please

Feb 23, 2016 11:50AM PST

I am going to upgrade my system. It is older and I have no idea which parts to replace. I have changed out pc parts on several pcs and understand how that works, it is which parts I need to make it all upgraded AND working together that I am clueless on! Here is what I currently have, it is a Dell XPS (I think that shows).

I am mainly wanting to upgrade my processor and graphics card, and need to make sure everything else is compatable and will run well with it. My budget is open and while I want it to run great I am not totally looking to go high end brand new shiney with it. I play World of Warcaft casually (not a huge raider) and some steam games. I also listen to music, watch some tv, and so on. Currently everything runs OK, though I am concerned with my graphics card because it gets warmer than it should. Any and all help would be great. The more detailed part names or numbers the better I am. Thank you all for reading!

Gpu.
Shop for a gtx 750ti.
That will give you a big bump in video power.

Cpu.
Don't touch it.
It has more than ample cpu power and your at the mercy of the dell bios for cpu support.
