Need to restore MFT

Dec 7, 2010 12:29AM PST

GetDataBack restores all my files perfectly, but I have not been able to find a crack or patch for that or any free program which says it restore MFT. Some do not use these terms and say things like "damaged boot sector", but I do not know what to look for unless it specifically says "repairs MFT" or "works on HDs that have had problems due to power outages". So far I have not found a free one, i need it very badly. For example I actually cannot use my cell phone unless I get these files restored properly (they are there but they don't show up in Explorer view). TestDisk did not work (I did follow a tutorial on how to get the MFT back, it only restore from a mirror and back though so apparently both are bad... which would make sense since it is only while they are copying each other that this problem could happen in the first place).

Why do you need to ....

restore (subject line) or repair (post) if you recovered all your files perfectly with getdataback?

And why can't you use your cell phone now? I've never seen a cell phone relying on a PC.

"crack or patch"?

The problem with cracks and patches is that I often find the users machine infected with more trojans or rootkits. Let's not do that!
