Question

need to open or at least print old publish it & works files

Nov 2, 2013 6:07AM PDT

I have some important docs that are from 1993 - 95 that are on old floppies on MAC.

They were created using MS Works for MAC and Timeworks Publishing Publish It Easy!

What software can help me recover - at least the text from these old files?

Plus I need to move from MAC to PC now.

Answer
You can buy MS Works from Amazon, or download
Nov 2, 2013 7:41AM PDT

MS Works 9 free from here:
http://msft-dnl.digitalrivercontent.net/msoffice/pub/X14-02658/X14-02658.exe
`
Since your documents are about 20 years old, version 9 may not be able to handle these documents. So you might want to just buy one of the older versions from Amazon. The older versions aren't expensive - around $20 for the ones I saw.
MS Office will open some Works documents, but I don't know about yours, given that they're so old. You should be able to find some older version that'll do the job for you though. I recently had to go back to a real old version, and the good news is that they do run under Windows 7 and I imagine they'll run with Windows 8 as well.
`
Good luck.

A link with a simple explanation would have been sufficient,

Try simple links and an one or two line explainer.
