1. Get another of the same model and transplant the drive to the new DVR.
2. Call http://www.drivesavers.com and ask how much?
I have a Panasonic DMR-E85H DVD video recorder. Programs are recorded to a 120GB hard drive, then can be recorded to DVDs. Recently this machine stopped working, not sure of the reason. My problem is, I recorded some family video to the hard drive, but now can't retrieve that video. I took out the hard drive and put it in an external case to see if I could put it on my computer(which is running Window XP), and when I plugged it into the firewire input, there was no recognition. Nothing under Windows Explorer to show there was anything plugged in though that sound was present when something is inserted in one of the USB or firewire inputs. In the process of trying to get it to work I saw something that said Lun0. Google search says it's a LINUX term. Does anyone know a way to pull off this video?
